Okay so we have wrapped up a total of 4 stops now! Stop number 4 was San Ignacio, this stop by far has been my favorite. We stayed at a missionaries house, whose names are George and Linda. Oh man we they are so stinkin cool. They had a set of dorm style rooms that they so graciously opened up for us. This stop we really had no agenda … Which meant evangelism time!!!! We went out and just talked with people and prayed with them as well. Here we also did a lot of work on the church by prepping and painting the entire outside of the church, as well as painting the little kitchen in the back.
But the best part of this week was all the time that we got to spend with the youth and young adults of the church! I made a friend…. Let that sink in for a minute.. Okay now that I have y’all laughing. I really did make a friend her name is Anaid, she is awesome young woman who spoke very little English but we still managed to communicate all week long 🙂 she carries so much joy and life. This week also carried a lot of tears as well .. I didn’t escape the stomach plague of Viscanio and honestly I hate being sick and not being able to do work. But I know my body well enough to know that I needed to rest and that I did. The tears weren’t just from being sick but also from missing home. I find that this part of the journey has by far been the hardest since I have arrived in Mexico. Okay sad moment over…. We got to see a really cool spot at a Laguna where there are a ton of fossils. As the week came to a close I realized that I am really going to miss the people as well as the town. In this week the biggest thing that The Lord was teaching me is that since DTS I have been abiding with Him more and more and so I require way more time and filling up with Him then I used to. Which is growth I. My walk with Jesus!! Speaking of Jesus, I was reading a boom this past week that talked about how as Christians we have a tendency to advertise Christianity rather than bringing them to a real relationship with the Loving father ! So my challenge for myself as well as y’all is are we speaking of Jesus, are we presenting an opportunity for people to have a love encounter with HIM??!!
Stop number 5 Santa Rosalia/San Lucas. This stop has been longggg… We have been to /run a total of 8 services in 7 days. One of those services included a funeral that we were asked to attend. Weirdest thing I have been a part of. We didn’t even know the lady, but it’s apparently normal in the Mexico to invite random missionaries to funerals… Hahah yes everyone I am being serious. SO WEIRD! Biggest thing that The Lord is teaching me here is to stay checked in. My mom says this is the part that I am really good at but honestly I don’t feel that good but in that God has also been teaching me that I am kinda on the back burner as far like leading goes. Which for this who know me know that this might be a little challenging because I naturally am a leader. But it’s been kinda nice to help others grow because in that I am growing as well. We roll outta here on Thursday for a few days of rest and relaxation which our team desperately needs 🙂 !! Please continue to pray for our team and continued unity. We are near the end of outreach and we are super tired and getting wore out but The Lord is still moving. 🙂 32 days and I will be back in Texas 🙂 I am beyond excited. Love you all and thank you for praying continually for myself and my team.
